Hello,

I'd like to figure out how cool it would be to keep things simple using zk.
So I decided to install JDK1.5.0_06 + tomcat 5.5.9 + zk 1.0.1 on a debian sarge.

After setting up the tomcat-user.xml to access the tomcat manager, I was able to deploy the zkdemo.war

But the application doesn't want to start and I can see the following error in the message box :
"
FAIL - Application at context path /zkdemo could not be started "

So I tried to take a look on the logs and here is what I've got :
"
Mar 17, 2006 1:17:42 AM org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig deployWAR
INFO: Deploying web application archive zkdemo.war Mar 17, 2006 1:17:42 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start
SEVERE: Error listenerStart
Mar 17, 2006 1:17:42 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start
SEVERE: Context [/zkdemo] startup failed due to previous errors Mar 17, 2006 1:17:50 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start
SEVERE: Error listenerStart
Mar 17, 2006 1:17:50 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext start
SEVERE: Context [/zkdemo] startup failed due to previous errors "

Any idea ?

PS: I first tried with tomcat 5.5.16 but it was the same so I decided to switch for a version on which it already works for some others (I saw someone on this forum successfully using 5.5.9 with 1.0.1)

Thanks very much...

Would you talk a look at stdout*.log? Can you find any stack trace?

Most of installation problems are caused by missing jar files. Remember to copy dist/lib/ext/*.jar, too.
