Is there a timeline on when you plan to update ZK FontAwesome in maven to the 5.0 branch. The fontawesome wrapper hasn't been updated since 4.7 and fontawesome is at 5.8.1. Thank you Daniel
Right now there are no concrete plans, since ZK's design is based on the 4.7.0 version.
However you're not stuck with this version. You can easily add the fontawesome css of your preferred version.

ZK replaces the fa- prefix with z-icon- to explicitly allow usage of another fontawesome version.
At the same time the iconSclass-attribute allows to use your custom css classes to integrate a variety of icon font libraries
(E.g. glyphicons of bootstrap 3.4 also shown in the example above)
