Downloaded CE, What next ?

Forgive my ignorance. I am totally new to this. I am trying to help my cousin who runs a small business to make him a software (a simple one) which will keep track of his inventory and sales in integration. I would also try to build a theme for a FOSS forum script named ElkArte.net . If you guide me achieve any one of these using ZK CE, I will be more than happy to be here. Thanks.
