Hook or ext create account override in liferay 6.1

I am specifically looking for a way to use ZK to implement a hook in liferay that will override create_account.jsp and the createaccountportletaction.

I havent seen any success stories or examples of creating these, just the normal portlets, which I can do as well. So far, I have not had any success implementing a hook with ZK, so I figured I would come to the source and see what I am missing.
