Lay-out in ZK

Hello

I'm new in ZK and have a question. I create my templates in HTML and CSS(3) but when I look into lay-out and ZK, I never see any HTML code. Do you guys use a lot of native code (xhtml) in writing views or do you use only ZK lay-out code? My lay-outs contains a lot of < div>-tags and my CSS a lot of marging, padding, ...

The ZK concepts I understand, but the lay-out/html/css concept of it is quiet complex to me. So how do you guys do it?
