Refresh height of north area of borderlayout

I have a border layout which displays a table which I resize using media queries if viewed in ipad portrait mode.

The table and related divs resize correctly the problem I am having is the <north> component of the borderlayout retains it size (as it is defined by an inline style). Is there anyway to force this to recalculate when I change the ipad from portrait to landscape ?

I have tried onClientInfo="Clients.resize(borderLayoutComponent)" without any luck.

Help greatly appreciated as always.
