Starting a timer from a radio button selection and a click of a button

I am a novice on ZK. I have created an application that contains a radio-button group and a button. Based on the selection of a specific radio-button and the click of the button, a timer should be started, prompting some ZUL components to appear on the screen. How can I do it in Java?
