Hi all,
I have a problem with some customers!

I have a project originally built in Zk3 and than upgraded to Zk5.
The problem is that the first time they run my program, it starts up with Zk3 components and Zk5 structure... so it doesn't work!
I asked them a laptop and a VPN connection to do some tests:

1. using our internet connection, we don't have any problem!
2. using customer's VPN, the first time we launch the program we get the Zk's 3 theme and the buttons do not works!
3. if we close the application window (but not all IE instances) and launch again our application, it works correctly (sometimes at the second or third time...)
4. using Firefox it works without any problem... no comment! :-)

What could I do? They use Vista with IE7!

Thanks you

Hi avenino,

What's your ZK 5 version? Do you attempt to use the Breeze theme?

Simon

Andrea,

1. The theme issue, from a first glance, could be a client side caching problem. (But it's just my wild guess.)

2. Does the button issue always happens with the theme issue? Or they are separate? (I can't think of a reason why they are related.) Can you provide a simple example to replicate the issue?

Simon

Hi Simon,
both problems happen the same time!

I think it's an IE7 proxy problem... look at this: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=1703278&group_id=152762&atid=785191

My problem is: how can I solve?

Thank you,
Regards

Andrea,

Can you try the latest Breeze (freshly version)? We have fixed a few things regarding to cookie manipulation, which is known to cause some issue in IE.

Simon

Hi SimonPai,
no way! I tried latest freshly build: colors are correct, but controls don't work yet.

I tried also to remove breeze theme, but it has the same problem... I don't think its a breeze issue!

Thank you,
regards

Ok, we solved!

The problem seems to be the combination of IE7 with MS ISA server. We solved adding another firewall (Linux) to another address so that projects with ZK5 are accessed by Linux firewall and not Micro$oft one!

I cannot understand why this issue appears only with Internet Explorer 7.... IE6 and IE8 works, and Firefox too!

Thank you,
Regards

Andrea,

Glad to know you've found the solution. I am not familiar with ISA server, but it sounds like the original firewall blocks request or response from/to IE7 (just my guess).

Simon
