This forum (technically) is a mess.
The editor, the tag system, the search features ... everything sucks and is no longer state of the art.
Have you seen other forums like StackOverflow? Maybe then you get it.
Please consider switching!
BTW: I hate the message ">1500 points required to create new tags, please apply an existing tag" Really? So for the rest of my life I'll have to use misleading tags???

I aggree that a Discourse version of this is probably nicer to use, but is it a necesity ? That I cannot answer
We understand your concern. It's true that our forum is dated has room for improvement. The strict rules (like the tagging criteria) are part of spam prevention, which is a result of past challenges we've faced.
We are exploring options to enhance or even transition to a more user-friendly and up-to-date forum experience.
