Hi,

We are using ZK version 3.0.3. The problem is that we are running out of memory over a period of time and we suspect it's a memory leak. On analysis with the IBM Heap Analyzer we could see that there is an object DesktopImpl which keeps growing with time. It seems the SimpleWebApp does not drops the reference to DesktopImpl Object. We did set up the HTTPListener in the web.xml to try to time out the sessions so that DesktopImpls objects can be garbage collected but it's simply not working. It would be really grateful if somebody can throw some light on this or at least point us in the right direction.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. The issue is that we won't be able to upgrade this version as it has been running in production all along unless a major software upgrade project happens. As of now we will have to be content with this version. Do you suggest that this has been a problem with the older versions of ZK and has been fixed in the latest releases?

Hello JashandeepZK,

As with all software, new versions usually add new functionality, and improved performance. So i agree with terrytornado that upgrading it would be a very good idea.

Additionally you should also consider evaluating you java version, as well as your application server's version and configuration.

Finally please look into the following url, which gives some very good insights on ZK Desktops, and Sessions.

Best Regards,
