Developing in ZK - without constantly restarting Tomcat

Hi All,

Is there anyway to develop/debug a zk application without constantly restarting the tomcat server ?

When we change a theme, or other dependent project - they need to be rebuilt and therefore the ZK application is restarted to pickup the changes.

Just interested if anyone else had found a more efficient way to develop with dependent projects.

The only real solution for us was JRebel. Zero redeploys, instant reload of literally any change, very good support of ZK framework.

PS: I am in no way connected or related to the JRebel guys. It is the only commercial product we are using for development.

We did try JRebel. Does that work when rebuilding a dependent project such as a theme ? It worked for hot deploying java code changes, we are more interested in rebuilds of dependent project jars which we are doing frequently.

As far as i understand you want to deploy the new jar automatically without restarting web server. We are using jrebel without exporting new jars but i think this link will do: http://zeroturnaround.com/software/jrebel/learn/how-to-configure-rebel-xml/
