Background load data

I load big data from DB.When user click on home page, I create background thread and there load data. But UI steel work slow whyl data loading. How i can do that UI doesn't work slow while loading?

If you are using EventQueues and a separate thread to load the data then you should have not problem. The page should be fully responsive. Please provide some code.
