# Zk textbox width inner HTML elements percentages

javiut
90 1 5

i have a simple component like this

<textbox width="100%"/>

this component creates a HTML like this.

<tr valign="top" id="aE9Po-chdex">
<td align="left">
<i class="z-textbox-rounded" style="width:100%;" id="aE9Po">
<input type="text" class="z-textbox-rounded-inp" id="aE9Po-real" style="width:159px;">
<i class="z-textbox-rounded-right-edge" id="aE9Po-right-edge"></i>
</i>

as you can see the i component is right with 100% width this component has a 173px in this example..

the input type tag is set with width:84.5% which is set correctly as i can see in the firebox or chrome debugger my question is

if i parent have a width=100% or 173px long why the input component which should be 84.5% of 173 px length is set to 159px? should be 148px or related?

<i class="z-textbox-rounded-right-edge" id="aE9Po-right-edge"></i>

component is only 5 px width..

if i delete the 84.5% applied to the input that the width to it is still width=159px how this width is computed?

and this is causing me problems or differents resolutions i am right or wrong any workaround any help is hugely appreciate..
