I am using the upload functionlity of a button and limit the size. Now I want to show a custom error message with the help of extending AuUploader. This works only half way because the error message scrambles the Umlauts. I tried everything like %FC or \u00FC or HTML Entity (it is not showing up correct here: it is Ampersand Uuml Semicolon) Ü but nothing is working.

All other labels on the website are showing Umlauts with no problem.

So what can I do?

Hello redsofa:
I just put the Ü in the string and it works fine, like the following code:

    public class MyUploader extends AuUploader {
       protected String handleError (Throwable ex) {
          if(ex instanceof SizeLimitExceededException){
             SizeLimitExceededException e = (SizeLimitExceededException) ex;
             return " It's Ü ";
          }
          return super.handleError(ex);
       }
}

Is this the message what you want to show ? Did you set the project's text file encoding to UTF-8?
