MVVM tab box - delay @load until tab pane displayed?

Is it possible to delay the @load bindings within a tab pane to be delayed until the parent tab pane is displayed?

I'm building a complex wizard style GUI which has multiple panes. The display logic means that not all panes will necessarily be shown. It's possible for the user to navigated from pane 1 to pane 3, skipping pane 2.
