I have created a Richlet with dynamic merged headers and variable columns. Now I need to enable the user to edit some of the column values and to bind those changes programmatically.

What I have so far:

  • Model class
  • TreeModel extending DefaultTreeModel
  • TreeRenderer extending TreeitemRenderer

Then I activate my tree:

Tree tree = new Tree();
tree.setModel(treeModel);
tree.setItemRenderer(new ForecastRenderer());

and all is fine to show my tree.

Now how can I bind the editable type of tree nodes (only the leaves in my case). I read some posts about using the DataBinder but that is deprecated. There are examples about using the AnnotateDataBinder or AnnotateBinder but here I don't even have a ZUL and that doesn't feel appropriate.

Thanks for the help. Alain
