Some thoughts on advantages:

1. Is very flexible
2. It supports the design pattern named Model-View-ViewModel
3. Very easy integration with 3rd party javascript libraries
4. Can use 3rd party CSS frameworks like Foundation, and Bootstrap
5. Integration with multiple Frameworks (Spring)
6. Large community and support forums
7. Excellent documentation

Actually ZKOSS is diffent than Spring framework. You can compare it with Vaadin or something like that.

I agree most of the answers here. Once you learn the syntax (It is really easy to learn) You can do any page without any designer. Also ZK is very flexible and extendable.

Whenever you need a new component you can create it easily and use it like any existing component. Also MVVM is very strong. Only because of this, ZK can be chosen as the leading UI framework:)
