we are currently working with MVVM and a PortalLayout... The user can re-arrange the panels inside the PortalLayout, that's great. Now we would like to add a possibility to save and load the positions of the panels, since the user wants to save his current configuration of the panels.
For this, we first create a "default" version of the PortalLayout, bind the VM to it ad then load the configuration and then move the Panels around according to their saved position.
Unfortunately, it seems, that moving the components around destroys the MVVM bindings somehow, as suddenly, attributes cannot be found any more.
So, is there a simple and preferred way to allow saving the PortalLayout's configuration if it is bound to a ViewModel?
